The Energy Powerä Bar Elite is a true, two-way speaker driver design similar to that used in a fine music loudspeaker. Great complement to a flat panel TV
Summary - excellent product; we'd give it 4.5 stars, marked down slightly for subwoofer power / volume, roll off of very high frequency sound and fiddly wall mounting (we'd rather have a positive bracket).

Installation and set up. The speakers were well packaged and protected which ensured that the product arrived safely from Amazon. The excellent and detailed instructions, in six languages, made the set up very easy straight out of the box. It is important to follow the step by step 'plug in and power up' sequence as described. You can review the User Manual online at the Energy website before purchase.

Shelf mounting (not used in our case). Two curved, self adhesive, legs are provided to stick to the underside of the soundbar. They looked as if they would complement the overall size and shape of the soundbar, but I wonder how effective the adhesive is over time.

Energy Powerbar Elite
Well, if you have ever listened to a pair of Klipsch towers or bookshelf speakers these sound about the same. What I mean is that they are incredible. The only couple of reasons this is not a 5 star is that it fights you on blu-ray playback. Definitely PCM downmix your bluray player to not get static garble. I tried out Lord of the Rings in Bluray last night and I did get a significant surround effect-although not anything close to what would come from a 5.1 system. It doesn't handle DTS at all but...what I have come to realize is that this is more of a SOUND bar versus a SURROUND bar! Keep that in context when listening and...it is incredible.

I have owned several Bose systems and Polk systems which all but one set sounded fantastic. This actually sounds as good or better depending on the music. My wife is a classical musician and we sampled some piano tracks yesterday. You can actually hear the hammers hitting the chords in the piano! Granted, one note that...
Great for a soundbar - do not overlook
The other review by s e bush was an excellent review and I will just add my two cents and support what he/she said. This is an excellent overall soundbar and I've been looking for a good soundbar for about 2 years. This will not substitute for a receiver and decent pair of speakers though. I really wanted to do a 5.1 or even a 3.1 system, but I just don't have the room and space for even bookshelf speakers. The room I placed it in is approximately 10 x 11. I also didn't want to spend a significant amount of money, but still wanted something "decent" and that I can later move without issues to another tv when I buy a real sound system. Anything system or soundbar will be better than the awful speakers that are in televisions, especially as these flatscreens get thinner and thinner. I weighed the options of soundbars that need receivers, but it appeared the cost was going to be higher. I really think soundbars don't become worth it when you start getting up towards $1,000 and...

Great Sound!
I have been an Energy loudspeaker enthusiast for many years. I had the larger book shelf speakers with dual 4" drivers and 1" dome tweeter. and piano finish. But after many years, they finally burned out. At the time of purchase, I had paid $350 a piece for them, and I had 3 of them (1 left, 1 right, 1 center). I was pretty bummed when the last driver finally didn't work anymore, so my search was on to find the next set of speakers. I tested many brands, even Bose, and then, I saw these speakers on a few sites with reviewers given them 4+ stars. At first, I thought, hmm, these are too tiny and will produce a shoddy sound. So, I took a chance, and purchased this set without the subwoofer. In reading my reviews, users said you can calibrate the sound to your particular sub. Having a 10" Velodyne 1,500 watt subwoofer, I thought, my sub would overpower them. Low and behold, these speakers sound fantastic! I did some sound calibration with my older Yamaha Receiver (RX-V2095) and everything...

Great Product, Better Sound
This speaker system is small but don't let that fool you. After the speakers are broken in, these sound great! Highs are crystal clear and mids are good. You have to buy a seperate sub for bass. These are must first pair of Energy speakers and I an quite surprised at how good they sound. I would rate these higher in sound quality than my Bose cube speaker system. The finish is a beautiful gloss black and well made. I would recommend these speaker to anyone. They are worth more than I paid.
Excellent
I was looking to upgrade an old set of 5 mini speakers as 1 had failed. I wanted to take a step up. After looking at the options, including aesthetics, and deal hunting, I settled on these. This was the right choice. They look great, nice & shiny too. They are bigger than expected, but that is not at all to imply they are big, they are just bigger than my older set; on the walls they look quite right. I didn't need a new sub so this was also a factor in selection & to save $, I walked away with this for <$200 too.

PROS:
The sound is clearly better than my former cheap HTS set, so it was a good step up.

CONS:
The wall mount design by energy is severely flawed. I have good universal brackets (videosecu) and it is as if energy went out of their way to design a speaker that takes a small miracle to get hung well..yes it has a clear keyhole, but really tight and shallow. They have this cube that can be removed to apply a screw on but it is buried...

AMAZING SOUND!!!
First off let me explain that the Energy Classic speakers in this kit are the exact same as the Energy Take Classic 5.1 except that you don't get the subwoofer. These speakers are just mind boggling good. They come in gloss piano black finish. They sound better than any speakers I've ever owned - even ones 5 times bigger. I use them mostly for music thru my Onkyo receiver but home theater sounds just as good. You can crank these babies up and they reward you with very clean and accurate sound. The first song I listened to with these was Khatru off Keys To Ascension and it put a big smile on my face. Anyway the best reason to get this set as opposed to the 5.1 kit is that you can match these up with a better subwoofer than the Energy sub. I got the Yamaha SW315 in piano black and it's a great match. Highly recommended. Just remember to use the proper gauge speaker wire for the length of your run and you'll be in great shape.

Energy Take 5 Classic -- Quite Impressive -- Very Satisfied
Pros: These are crisp, clean, lots of range, lots of imaging (ability to sound like an actual 3D event, rather than sound coming from speakers.) Very well matched as a set. They fill my reasonably large TV/audio rooms very, very well. They mounted rather inconspicuously near the corners of the room about 8 feet high on wooden wall beams, yet their wide-dispersion and off-axis accuracy sounds terrific. I just can't imagine a better sounding system anywhere near this price point. And I've heard a lot of them.

Cons: These speakers originally came with a subwoofer from Energy. This version of these speaker does not. I have mine hooked up with a JBL subwoofer, and they are outstanding. I might not think so without the subwoofer, but I haven't tried them that way. If you have a subwoofer to run with them, you're set. If you don't, you might want to consider getting a subwoofer.

At $200 these are a steal!!!
Let me start off by saying these speakers are a great addition to any home theater, especially given their price point. I think you would have a hard time finding better sounding speakers for this price! I replaced my Samsung 32" LCD and Sony Home Theater in a box with a Panasonic TC P50V10 - 50" plasma TV - widescreen - 1080p (FullHD) - HDTV (which is amazing), to this I added an Onkyo TX-SR507 5.1-Channel A/V Surround Home Theater Receiver (Black), Energy Take Classic 5.0, Energy S-10.3 800-Watt 10-Inch Subwoofer (Black), and a Bush 60" TV stand. The sound that comes out of these speakers is crisp and full bodied, the highs are high and the mids are wonderful. Playing games or watching Blu-Rays has never sounded (or looked) better. Excellent 2.1 system.
Pros:
1. Subwoofer is awesome. It works on 5.8Ghz frequency so does not interfere with other wireless electronic in house.
2. Ability to set it up as 2 speakers.
3. No distortion in sound at any volume.
4. Receiver is not part of sub or speakers and has 2 Digital inputs. This makes it much more flexible.

Cons:
1. Remote can be better, not a big deal as I use a universal remote.
2. Lcd/Led display on the receiver would have been better.

Movies and Music sound awesome on this so overall very happy with the purchase.

We love it!
This system offers are reasonably affordable way to get good quality sound out of your TV. What's the use of having that big, gorgeous screen if you have to listen to the sound from its crappy built-in speakers? But... the ability to stream wireless music is, for me, one of the best parts of this system. The Panasonic SC-HTB350 2.1 channel Home Theater System is reasonably compact, has great sound quality, is easy to set up and use. The sub-woofer delivers quality output. I really appreciate the system's versatility - speakers can be used tabletop style vertically, or wall mounted and used horizontally like a sound bar. The receiver And a wireless sub-woofer? I love it.
The remote isn't the best, but I've used worse. I'm really happy with this system and would recommend it.
Decent but pricey
I've yet to figure out whether I really like the SC-HTB350 or not. I've had it (purchased elsewhere) for less than 24 hours and am still fiddling with the settings, so I'll give you what I like and don't like...so far.

LIKE - The sub is spectacular with a superb range! I am hearing frequencies in songs that I rarely hear from other subs.
LIKE - Very little distortion across the volume range.
LIKE - Visually, this is a great set with sleek lines. I have it set up as two separate speakers.

DON'T LIKE - White speaker cables. Why they would produce a sleek black system and package ugly white cabling with it is beyond me - and before you go out and just buy black speaker cable keep in mind that the main unit has a proprietary connection for the speakers.
DON'T LIKE - The remote is small and cheesy, like it was just an after thought.
DON'T LIKE - The high frequencies have great support from the tweets. The sub handles the low frequencies with ease...
