Excellent Speakers
I did a lot of shopping around for speakers before I bought them. I don't like not hearing them before I bought them, but it was worth it. These speakers sound amazing, I have them powered by a RXV373 Yamaha receiver. The box was pretty beat up when i got them, but the speakers or the packaging foam were not damaged. All in all, these speakers are a great investment. Polk Audio is one of the best sound companies out there.

outstanding!
We had this installed for surround sound. Geek Squad recommended it for our needs, but it was more reasonably priced through this seller as opposed to purchasing from Best Buy. It arrived on time, and works very well. Gives outstanding sound!

Polk Audio TL1 Speaker Center Channel (Each, Black)
Big Speaker Sound Without The Big Speaker Whether you're looking for your first home theater sub/sat system or want to upgrade to more performance, you're in for a big surprise in a small, compact package from Polk Audio. The predecessor to Blackstone TL, our RM series, was always about "Big Speaker Sound Without The Big Speaker." Blackstone TL represents a significant leap forward, delivering an astonishing home theater performance never before heard in compact loudspeakers.
With so many on offer these days, it is great to have a name you can trust. This item is certainly that and will be a perfect buy. The distributor have added some great touches and this equals great value.

Very happy to get this speaker at discount
I have been on the prowl looking for a low-profile (less than 5-inch high) center-channel speaker for about a year after I bought an Onkyo RC360 receiver. I have a pair of hand-me-down floor-standing speakers which has a full ensemble of tweeter-midrange-woofers to provide a full range of sound. The problem is that dialogues in movies are very weak. Nothing I could do with the sparse settings on the RC360 can alleviate this. If I turn the volume up to hear dialog, the bass and the explosion caused my neighbors to complain. The answer is to find a decent center channel that can be placed in front of my Sony LCD TV. I finally saw Amazon offering the TL1 with a decent 25% discount over retail (this speaker rarely goes on sale). I bought it and it arrived 3 days later. I plugged it in and did a little calibration using my RC360 Audyssey microphone. The level calibration gave -9dB for the front main speakers and -4dB for the center TL1. I plugged in some Blu-ray movies and rented...

Great for the money and small size
I tried this speaker against several other Polks in this price range. It produced nice clear dialogue and had decent low-mid response as well. It also blended well with my other speakers and created a nice smooth L-C-R image, despite the fact that my living room is irregularly shaped and I can't place the speakers properly. I'm using it with a Yamaha RX-667 receiver, and I tried the RM8 and TL2 as well before I settled on this one. All three have a nice build quality and a bit of heft to them (i.e. they don't feel cheap) but this suited my ears the best. Keep in mind you're not going to be blown away by the sound, it's a fairly small speaker. But for price and size (it fits anywhere and looks nice) this is a great buy.
Bose who?
This speaker sounds great with decent bass response for a small speaker. I have a cs2 polk center and this one holds it own well in a small room.

Polk Audio AM1805 SurroundBar SDA Instant Home Theater (Black)
Legendary Polk Audio sound combines with Polk Digital Logic to make watching TV and movies not only more exiting, but increadibly easy. Using a single SurroundBar loudspeaker and a wireless subwoofer, the SurroundBar SDA Instant Home Theater produces a generous soundstage and rich, full sound. To get started, connect the Surroundbar SDA to your TV and plug in its power cord. Then plug in the wireless subwoofer. Polk Audios patented SDA tehnology and Polk Digital Logic does the rest, bringing spectacular performance and convenience to all of us whose budget is limited but whose desire for great sound is not.

There's an easy way to get great, immersive surround sound pumping from your new flat panel, widescreen HDTV--Polk Audio's SurroundBar Series speakers, which provide single-speaker surround sound from one slim speaker bar. The Polk Audio AM1805 SurroundBar SDA Instant Home Theater requires only a RCA stereo output from a TV, DVD play, or any source--no additional electronics or wires are needed. It even comes with a wireless subwoofer and can "self learn" to work with your existing TV remote control.

The Polk Audio AM1805 SurroundBar SDA Instant Home Theater.

It doesn't take big bucks to enjoy big sound.

The Polk SurroundBar SDA Instant Home Theater is a self-contained powered SurroundBar SDA loudspeaker and companion wireless powered subwoofer. We designed it for anyone who's technologically insecure. And we priced it so it won't add to the national debt. It's the most economical (dare we say smart?) way to upgrade your flat panel's built-in speakers to a much, much higher level of performance and enjoy all the benefits of a three-dimensional sound stage.

Polk Audio AM1805
No complicated audio connections on the rear of the SurroundBar (see larger image).

It connects to your TV in under 5 minutes.

The SurroundBar SDA IHT works with your remote, the one you're already intimately familiar with. It also comes with all the wires you need for hook up--one. There is no complicated setup or anything else to buy. And you don't have to camouflage multiple speakers, because there are no rear speakers or rear speaker wires. Setup is just this easy:

  1. Un-box the speaker bar and wireless subwoofer.
  2. Connect the audio cable (which comes in the box) from your TV to the SurroundBar.
  3. Plug the bar and wireless subwoofer to electrical power.
  4. Set the bar in front of your TV (or mount it to the wall).
  5. Turn it on. You're done!
Polk Audio AM1805
Rear of the subwoofer.

Polk Digital Logic delivers the drama and the simplicity.

Polk Digital Logic (a combination of Polk's patented SDA technology and proprietary DSP programming) is how our engineers created the IHT's big sonic performance with no complicated setup or calibration. Like all Polk Audio SurroundBars, the Instant Home Theater's stunning surround sound effects are created independent of any room boundaries so it will work as well in your room as it does in our labs. And as with our other surround bars, Polk SDA technology helps maintain a solid center channel for clear, intelligible dialogue. Combined with Polk Digital Logic you can enjoy dramatic imaging, a three-dimensional sound envelope and, of course, Polk's signature sound--warm, with exceptional immediacy, fullness and clarity.

This wireless subwoofer has a kick no matter where you place it.

The SurroundBar SDA Instant Home wireless woofer gives you the flexibility to place the woofer anywhere in your room. Plus you'll never have to run expensive and unsightly line level audio cables all around the room. The subwoofer's small size means you can hide it away behind or under furniture. Your room is refreshingly free of clutter. The subwoofer employs a powerful DSP digital amplifier and Polk's Dynamic Balance Driver Technology for the deep, punchy bass that turns movies, games and TV programs into real gut-pounding thrills.

SDA Surround Sound

What is SDA Surround Sound Technology?

SDA stands for Stereo Dimensional Array, a patented Polk Audio exclusive. When a multi-channel recording is made, sound supposed to be heard at your left ear comes only out of the left speaker. However over a sound system, you hear sound from the left speaker not only in your left ear but also your right ear as well. The dedicated SDA driver produces a SDA signal to control the amount and type of sound the further ear hears. By carefully controlling the SDA signal, SDA Surround Technology allows the sound image to be precisely steered and projected into the room. You'll experience sound effects and instruments coming from all around you, with no physical speakers beside or behind.

Great Sound, No Fuss.
I'll start with my current set up and what my expectations were. I have a 47" Philips LCD TV, all the major gaming systems, and I also use my LCD TV as a computer monitor. I was looking for a speaker system with a subwoofer for around $400. I didn't want to buy a receiver if I didn't have to for my set up. I had researched and heard several soundbar systems before deciding on this one. All of my gaming systems and my laptop connect directly into the TV through HDMI cables. The speakers are connected to the TV through the "TV Out" connection. Overall, I am very, very happy with it.

The soundbar itself is smaller than expected. The mid and high rannge sounds are great. One concern that I had with soundbar systems was the ability to hear dialogue. Many soundbar systems I listened to had muffled dialogue that was difficult to hear at times. This soundbar does not suffer from any of those qualities. Dialogue is easy to hear from all sources.

The subwoofer has very...

Very Nice
I purchased one of these because my husband is an old rocker and his hearing isn't as good as it used to be. He'd given up watching TV on our 46" Samsung LCD because of muddy sound. I don't know whether we blew a speaker (which we've done on every other stereo and car we've owned) or whether it was just the tiny, tinny speakers in the TV. (Time out for pet peeve: We paid a LOT of money for this TV 2 years ago; you'd think they could put decent speakers in it. OK, back in) He was always asking me what people had said. I wasn't sure one of these would 'fix' it, but it did. We pulled it out of the box and plugged one cable into the wall for power and one into the TV for audio (actually 2 together, you know how they do left and right, red and yellow). We turned the TV speakers off and started enjoying TV immediately. Then my son insisted that we had to use the subwoofer. I thought extra noise was part of our problem and didn't want to add anything more. We plugged it into power and placed...
Nice little system but..
It gives a good bang for the buck but there were a couple of issues that I had with it. Firstly, it is very easy to setup and install which is a plus. The wireless sub fits conveniently anywhere in a room and provides a nice bass. Where is the remote? Where are the directions? These things were not in the box. I am guessing the remote wasn't supposed to be there. It took me a few days to figure out that when you turn the tv off and on the sound bar will automatically sense input from the TV and then turn itself on without having to manually press the power button which is nice. But I would have liked to have read that in a manually and not figure it out for myself. Overall I love the simplicity that this system provides and combined with good performance I would recommend it to someone who doesn't want to hassle with a big surround system but wants something a little extra in the sound department.

EDIT: I was able to find directions online that show you how to...

Polk Audio Atrium 4 Speakers (Pair, Black)
First introduced in 2002, the outdoor Atrium Series set a new standard not only for build quality, but sonic performance, too. But we couldn’t leave well enough alone. Not only does our new, refined Atrium Series offer better sonic performance and easier install/mounting options, the series also exceeds the standard military specification weather tests, setting a new standard for rugged outdoor durability under our own more rigorous weatherproofing certification program. The results are a pure joy to listen to. So that wherever you put your Atrium speakers—by a pool, on a deck or in a sunroom, you can be confident they’ll deliver great sound year round.

I Am Impressed
I have had a "total" sound system in my home for more than 10 years - a set of Bose indoor speakers in each of three rooms; a set of Bose outdoor speakers in the eaves over my front door and another set in my outdoor screen room; and a set of Cerwin Vega "bookshelf" speakers in my TV/entertainment room. Just today, I added a set of Polk Audio Atrium 4 speakers to the system in order to pipe sound (satellite TV/DVD/CD)to an arbor swing located about 50 feet from the back of my house. I must say, I am impressed. The Polk Audio Atrium 4s sound every bit as good as the Bose speakers (if not better), and the quality of their construction appears outstanding. As this is the the set which will be most exposed to the elements, I was encouraged by the excellent "weatherproof" specifications and the fit and finish of the Atrium 4s. Only time will tell if they hold up as well as the outdoor speakers I now have, but at a price about $100 cheaper than the least expensive Bose outdoor...

Pleased overall
For $100 these are some pretty good overall outdoor speakers. I had a pair of JBL outdoors that developed some buzzing and pops so I needed a replacement and I went with these. For reference, every other speaker I own (except for a pair in the garage) is JBL, this was my first Polk experience.

Generally speaking they are a solid set of speakers. They give a pretty balanced sound all around but lack a little fullness in the lower mid-range. This is particularly noticeable when playing orchestral type music like film scores or piano heavy music. Going from the lower mids to bass is where they really start to have trouble. For the size of the speaker I certainly wasn't expecting to really "feel" bass but these do drop off noticeably in the lower frequency ranges. If there's something to knock with the Atrium 4's, that's it. With other types of music (country, rock, etc...) those issues aren't as noticeable. With that said they offer a nice high end treble sound that is...
Scary good sound from such tiny things
At $99, these are not the most expensive speakers I've ever bought, and of course not the biggest. At lower volumes you might think they're underpowered. But give them some juice. Everywhere between half-loud to uncomfortably loud you'll be shocked (seriously, shocked) at the clarity of the sound.

Product Features :

  • Anodized Aluminum Tweeter Domes with Rubber Surrounds are absolutely immune to the elements, provide the smooth, broad high-end range you need for larger outdoor spaces
  • Newly designed tweeter phase cap smoothes the frequency response from 12KHz up to 20kHz, the last audible octave.
  • Broad Coverage Baffle Design adapted and applied from our current Atrium design but a more steeply-angled baffle design that maximizes critical mid- and high-frequency dispersion over a large area.

Polk Audio SurroundBar 9000 Instant Home Theater (Black)
This Instant Home Theater is about more than creating sound far beyond what any TV speakers can produce. The 9000 is about transforming your flat panel into an amazing home theater experience. Polk technology and innovation make this possible. For starters, you'll hear superior center channel intelligibility thanks to the Optimized Center Array, a feature that employs all of the bar's drivers. Then, like real component systems, we use the critical 80Hz crossover point for bar and sub to minimize localization of the sub and create the ideal blending. But perhaps most impressive, we've created a component quality sound bar that reproduces true 5.1 channel audio in DTS or Dolby Digital. When you augment those surround formats with our proprietary SDA® Surround Technology, you'll hear why the SurroundBar 9000 IHT is the best sounding bar/subwoofer system. Digital Signal Processing (DSP) This is the most powerful DSP ever incorporated into any of our SurroundBars and is capable of 160MIPS (millions of instructions per second!!). DSP packs an incredible amount of processing power into a small space, controling delay, frequency shaping, crossover points, signal mixing and parametric compression. Dolby Digital & DTS Decoding both optical inputs can decode and reproduce Dolby Digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1 program material. Many bars can decode 5.1 but can only reproduce it as 2-channel stereo. The SurroundBar 9000 IHT plays back all discrete channels as intended for optimal surround performance and fidelity. Polk's patented SDA surround technology creates a broad, deep and tall sound field that extends along the side walls and overhead with a high degree of specificity. You hear a vivid 5-channel sound field from a single source; no rear speakers or special room characteristics are required.

POLK AUDIO 9000
Bought the Polk 9000 January 7th, so far no problems looks nice under our tv.
Music sounds great and movies sound excellent.

Watched several movies and the sound can make you jump out of your seat...it is a powerful sound system.

Watched Titanic blueray with DTS master audio with my wife last night and set the Blueray player audio for the same(the sound bar LED was orange for DTS). To our amazement both of us were looking in the corners behind us thinking something hit the walls...how is that possible with a sound bar?

I went to Best Buy and sat in their studio to watch part of a movie - no doubt their system had more surround and I'm sure it's louder, but for this price and simplicity we have no regrets.
Very good (with caveats)
Pros: Easy set up, very good quality sound (optical input), more than loud enough for small to medium rooms.

Cons: Do not expect 5 channel sound from this (or possibly any) sound/surround bar, no HDMI input, hissing noise from analog input, small amount of glue where grill was attached was evident.

This was bought for a living room. Its primary purpose was to allow me to watch movies and listen to music without too many wires everywhere. Set up was straightforward. Mounting on the wall was a bit tough since I did it alone and had a hard time aligning the key hole slots with the screws on the wall. Ended up scratching the back of the bar quite a bit. Bottom line, get some help if you are going to wall mount this. That said, hookup and use were beyond easy. Subwoofer synced up with bar easily and functioned without any drops or lags. Did not program the bar for use with my TV remote.
I tried listening first on my ipod classic hooked up via the mini RCA...

For the money you can't beat them.
The livingroom in our new home just doesn't have a place for free-standing speakers due to the floorplan (very open to the rest of the house, with a fireplace in the front corner). This ruled out using my existing (high-end) theater speakers (large towers).

I went to the local big-box store, and the only set of in-wall speakers they had that I thought were worth buying were a set of Klipsch that came in at $600 per set. I almost went for them, but after measuring I found they were about 2" too wide for where I needed to install one of them. The $300 Infinity set sounded horrible. They didn't sell Polk Audio or Boston Acoustic, which was actually what I wanted to look at.

So ... I figured at $140 from Amazon, the RC65i's were worth a shot. I'm glad I did - price vs. performance these are an excellent set of speakers. Decent dynamic range, and actually a surprising amount of bass if you don't have a subwoofer (though I recommend having one - you can only get so...

Excellent Speakers!!
I purchased a pair of these in-walls for a pool table/game room area I am building in the basement. My receiver is an Onkyo 805 7.1 home theater system and these will serve as stereo/audio part for only that room. I have never owned Polks or in wall speakers for that matter and listened to them at the big box store before purchasing these through Amazon. I was really impressed at the audio quality. I also didn't want floor standing speakers, but didn't want to sacrifice audio quality either so these speakers filled the bill.
No back boxes are necessary, the speaker is designed as an "infinite
baffle" type and only requires that the front and rear moving sound wave
are isolated from each other. Polk recommends to maximize the sound quality, you place a modest amount of a sound absorbing material, such as Polyfil (a synthetic cotton-like material found at craft/fabric stores) inside the cavity before installing the speakers. Supposedly, this will absorb the rear...
What a great buy!
Super easy to put in and fantastic sound. Followed everyone's advice and stuffed the cavity with insulation....taped the wall with Scotch blue painters tape..and scored the paper of the drywall with a razor before cutting with a small drywall saw!

Polk Audio CS10 Center Channel Speaker (Single, Black)
The CS10 center, like its larger brother the CS20 sounds just as good but is a little smaller. It still has an angled top allowing you to invert the speaker and place it below your TV- directing sound towards the listening area. CS10 works great with the TSi100, TSi200 and others. Speaking of the cabinet (no, not the Presidential Cabinet), it's extensively braced from MDF with ¾-Inch thick baffles. Cheaper speakers will use other material such as particle board which is flimsy, robbing you of good sound. With pewter accents, a piano black top plate and removable black grille, TSi speakers look awesome and take up less than one square foot. All models are available in a choice of black or cherry wood grain, so don't be ashamed to show off your stereo equipment.

Unlike the electronics, your speakers won't go out of date, so bring out the most in your entertainment experience with Polk TSi Series. A great match to the TSi Series, the Polk Audio CS10 center channel speaker--the most important speaker in surround sound--is smaller than its sibling CS20, but still sounds just as good. And it has an angled top allowing you to invert the speaker and place it below your TV--directing sound towards the listening area. The TSi Series and the CS10 were designed to be highly efficient, so they can be driven easily by unpretentious receivers, and they're voice-matched for lifelike surround sound environments. This speaker in black measures 6-1/2 by 20 x 9-3/4 inches (HxWxD).

Polk Audio CS10 in black
The Polk Audio CS10 center channel speaker in black (see larger image).

Key Features

Quality built cabinets.

The cabinet is extensively braced from MDF with 3/4-inch thick baffles. Cheaper speakers will use other material such as particle board which is flimsy, robbing you of good sound. With pewter accents, a piano black top accents and removable black grille, the CS10 looks awesome.

High efficiency design.

Compatible with practically all electronics, these are speakers that produce sound that's open, spacious and clear, even when driven by modestly-powered amplifiers and receivers. No matter if you just bought a new digital surround receiver, or are hooking up this CS10 or TSi Series speakers to vintage electronics, they will still sound great.

Narrow baffle geometry.

Bringing the best of both worlds- narrow baffle geometry is a design that creates a sleek looking speaker with slick sound. First the high quality cabinet is slender (less than one square foot) and tucks away easily in your room. The smaller-diameter speaker components are lighter in mass, translating to clearer sound.

Great Speaker for the Price
I purchased this center channel at Circuit city today. I paired it with a Sony STR DG520, Bose Acoustimass 10 cube surround sound speakers, Acoustic Audio PSW10. I have since played Transformers, Normal TV (digital cable), Halo 3, and Music Channel TV stations, and FM radio through it. I also listened to this against the $200 Bose Center channel, $250 Klipsch, $230 Boston Acoustic, and cheaper $110Polk Center Channel. The Polk was better than the Bose Center Channel as well as their cheaper $110 Center channel. I think the Klipsch sounded better than the polk I bought and the Boston Acoustic sounded about the same.. Hard to tell the difference between the Boston Acoustic and Polk CS10.

Overall this center channel sounds great. It livens up the music, movies are very clear and vivid sounding. There are better center channels out there.. But for the money I have not found one. I was looking for the cheapest good sounding center channel and I found it.

Good match for Polk bookshelf speakers
When I bought a 50" HDTV a few years ago, I bought an all in one home theater package. The type you typically see in the $300-$400 Range. The surround was fun, but for listening to music it was pretty muddy. I decided to put together a better system. I started with a Yamaha Rx-V663 receiver and a pair of Polk Tsi-200 bookshelf speakers. Had I stopped there, I would have been very satisfied with that system for music. I listen to a broad range of music, but I have a strong preference for acoustic. And for that the 200s were very impressive for a bookshelf size speaker. I ended up with a whole Polk system. A 111 woofer, the CS10 and RM 6751 surround speakers. (If you have to make choices to stay within budget, put more money into the front speakers).

The CS10 is, as expected, a good sonic match for the Tsi 200s. For the money, it is a great speaker. Tht two mid range / bass speakers and the tweeter appear to be the same as the Tsi 200s. The speaker can handle a lot more...
Great Quality, Affordable Price
I am a home audio/visual amateur and certainly not a techie. About a year ago I purchased a Panasonic 50" Plasma HDTV. Although my home has built-in surround sound speakers in the ceiling, the rest of my system consisted of castoffs and mismatched speakers acquired over a long period of years. I subsequently added an Onkyo SKW204 Bass Reflex powered subwoofer and was amazed at the enhanced sound quality of my system. My Bose bookshelf speakers seemed adequate but over time, I grew increasingy discontented with the poor sound quality and performance from my center speaker that I had inherited somewhere along the line. I knew there had to be something better than what I was hearing.

After researching quality and price, I purchased the Polk Audio CS10 Center Channel Speaker and have been a very happy camper since. The sound is great, enjoyable, and, certainly powerful. The tinny sounding voices from my old unit have been replaced with strong, clear, crisp, and concise...

Polk Audio OWM3 On-Wall Speaker (Pair, White)
The OWM3 is a dedicated Surround/Satellite that’s about as unobtrusive as an on-wall speaker can be. Equally capable of being part of a 2.1 2nd zone system, or as a multi-channel surround system, the OWM3s unique curved design and removable base make it easy to mount in a corner or simply place on a table. In fact, with the OWM3 you have six different mounting possibilities, including angled wall mounting. The OWM3 incorporates a 4 1/2" driver, which employs Capacitive Coupling Bass Technology for low frequency response that’s truly surprising given the speaker’s ultra compact size. A choice of either white or black finish makes the speaker blend in easily to any decor. It’s simple. It's easy. It's pure Polk Audio.

Excellent Rears for 5.1 or 7.1 setups
Produces lots full sound for rear channels. Can be mounted in most any position to give that custom installed look. Had expensive B&W 805's for rears and decied to move the 805s to front for another seperate room setup. Put these in place and did not notice a change at all. Thundering choppers flying from front to rear still sound great. Also handles the subtle sounds of crickets in the outdoor scenes very cleanly. No need to spend more on super expensive rears -- save the money for your center speaker or a big subwoofer. Great performance and good value.

Great Speakers!
Being audio-conscious, albeit not an audiophile, I bought these to replace my old JBL sound effects speakers as my front left and rights. The tweeters on both drivers broke, and I needed something new. Since I needed speakers in a pinch I went to the old two stores in my area: CircuitCity and the Bose outlet. The Bose outlet had their 301s for $219, which was a decent price. Because my CircuitCity was closing, these were discounted to only $100. I bought these impulsively (knowing that Polk is a good name in audio) and I have been impressed. The mids are not as clear as in my JBLs, but the treble is much more audible than my JBLs were (when the tweeters worked). Although they're wall-mount speakers, I use them with the included stand things and they work just fine. If you're looking for some speaker replacements and want something good, small, and relatively inexpensive then these speakers are a great choice.
The Best sound On Earth!
PROS:
These are some great sounding speakers. More than great, they sound spectacular. It has a very clear, full, rich complete sound that can sound as awesome as the front and surround sound speakers. I chose the white speakers and the color blends perfectly well with a nice limited edition picture resting between them. You would not believe how well they look on the wall over my sofa and how many compliments I get on their appearance. The speakers were easy to put up and the picture on the net does not do them justice. I can put these speakers anywhere that I want to. I can corner them between two walls, mount them on a stand or just sit them on a table. How sweet is that? Also, the shape of each speaker affords an easy blend into any decor. I know. I'm a woman.

CONS:
Barring someone receiving a lemon, I don't think that anyone could find a legitimate con to these, or for that matter, any of the Polk speakers in this series.

For 249.99, You Won't Go Wrong
I had $300 in gift certificates from Best Buy and my Mission ASI 700 sub had died. My home theatre is relatively small so I don't need a 300+ watt monster. I auditioned the Klipsch and it was just too boomy for my tastes, I love tight well defined bass and boomy only when it is suppose to be. I was impressed with the Definitive PSB1000 it was tight and punchy, but I did not want to spend $499.00+. The Polk PSW110 was 249.99 and it gave tight bass, but definitely seemed a little thin at the store. It has a 30 day money back from Best Buy, so I gave it a shot. When I got it home, I fired it up with my Outlaw 950 and the sound was tight, but still seemed to be a little thin and muddy sounding. Knowing that out of the box is not a speakers true sound, I loaded up the CD carousel and let it go at moderate volume. About 4 hours in, "The sub came to life!!!!" It put out extremely tight, strong and well defined bass, beyond its $249 price tag. The only thing that separated its sound quality...

Good clean sub - but underpowered
I got this for free in an Amazon/Polk offer - buy over $500 of Polk / get the sub free. The subwoofer is incredibly clean - but can't quite keep up with the rest of my system (Onkyo HT-SR875 and Polk Monitor series in a 5.1 config). This sub would probably be great in a very small home theater in a small room. Free was a great price - but when I get a chance, this will be moved to the rear of my system and I'll add a 12"/230W Sub as my primary to help shake the house.

Extra points for how clean it is - since it's really easy to muddy up the low frequencies & the sound this creates is very crisp.
A great sub at a great price
This is a great sub. Great with both movies (BOOM!) and music (tight). But you have to dial it in! Take some time, read your receiver and speaker manuals, do your homework. It has to be adjusted for your system. Also give it a week or so to break in - many have reported this sub becomes bassier and more responsive with a little time. I paired this with a set of Polk TSi300 towers and couldn't be happier with the result. Looks awesome too - very well designed.

Good sound in a small package
Don't let the small size and light weight fool you. This center channel speaker packs plenty of punch. For me, the main purpose of a CS speaker is to deliver clear vocals and dialogue. With this Polk, I no longer have to lean forward in my chair or crank up the volume to hear conversations. All sound coming from it is crystal-clear. I'm very happy with it. I have it set up with an Onkyo receiver, an RCA sub, two Bose front speakers, and four Klipsch surround speakers.

WOW!
Got an HD LCD TV for Christmas to replace the Sony CRT. That meant the center speaker (an $200 big name in high end audio) could no longer sit on top of the set. Wall mounting wasn't an option (uh, I have a WIFE.) This little Polk unit fits in the TV stand (standing upright) next to the audio/SAT/DVD units. Yeah, I was a bit worried about the sound coming out of such a small unit (especially male vocals) but Polk does wonders with their small bookshelf speakers (of which I have a pair in the bedroom.) How impressive is this! Crisp, loud vocals with plenty of warmth and depth. Male voices are plenty deep. For $71 and free shipping, this was a steal!!!!
Very clear vocals in a small package
While overhauling my home theater system, I decided to try a new center speaker. Even if this speker did not work well, it could go into another room.

Wow! What a pleasant surprise to hear the sweet, clear sound this speaker produces. At less than half the size of my existing center speaker, this Polk Audio RM6752 center speaker produces at least the same amount of sound. More importantly, vocal sound through this speaker is clear and crisp.

So, this speaker will stay with my home theater system. The older center speaker can go to the other room for a 3.1 setup. As you can guess, I do recommend this speaker. Though small, it provides a sweet, clear sound for your center channel.

Polk Audio SurroundBar CHT 400 Component Home Theater Speaker Bar
Keeping it simple, keeping it real.
One of today's most in-demand speaker styles is the thin soundbar, which looks so cool mounted under your flat panel TV. But real high performance in a soundbar is rare; there are just too many technical obstacles (shallow enclosure, digital technology, etc). Most manufacturers can leap an obstacle here and there, but they can't leap them all. We can. And do!

To experience a truly realistic, surprisingly spacious soundstage, with smooth mid-range and pinpoint details, from a thin, easy to connect soundbar speaker, you need the SurroundBar CHT 400. No other single-speaker system packs so much state-of-the-art technology and specialized engineering into so shallow an enclosure. Especially one that looks this smokin' cool next to your television!

Almost there...
I was hoping for more. More surround, more highs. Great replacement for TV speakers, but don't expect a great 5.1 experience, or even a good one.

Primary use is listening to TV with the occasional Blu-ray and fairly rare critical music listening thrown in.

Great for TV, voices are very clear and other sounds are bright. Five channel sound is basically non existent for me.

No 'sparkle' in the highs when listening to music.

I had a few issues with my installation. The speaker wall jack was just a foot above the speaker, behind the TV. I didn't want 15 feet of cable stuffed up behind the TV so I had to cut some off. Since the cable needed to go up instead of down, I had to add a 1/2 inch board between the bracket and the wall so I could route the cable. Other than those issues, the bracket makes mounting a breeze.

I gave the unit four stars despite the critical comments because it delivered what I expected. Good, clean sound, great...

Great sound
This is a great sounding speaker. I am using it in LCR mode sitting under the TV with ceiling mounted surround/rear and a seperate sub -- this speaker compliments those nicely and it just sounds awesome.

Only problem is the included 15' cable is a bit inflexible if you just want to connect it to a wall jack (or receiver) a few feet away and the connector on the speaker would be difficult to connect to directly.

Highly recommend it.
Awesome Soundbar
I needed a component soundbar to connect to my HD TV that was being mounted to the wall and also connect to my stereo. This is the best one I've seen and read about and it did not disappoint. The sound quality is excellent and if you pair it with a subwoofer, you will not need anything else. It replaces two big tower speakers and a center speaker - making my system look so clean. I'm very glad I purchased this Polk Surroundbar!
